Alongside the warmth of the timbers, the cabins feature natural stone, leather and linen upholstery fabrics, finely textured bedding and understated rustic accessories, all chosen to create a sense of country charm and to provide a balance between laid-back luxury and sensuous softness.

The buildings are inspired by the simple architecture of the classic Australian shed. Inside, warm tones and textural interiors nod to the farmlands and the Great Southern region’s rugged coastline, inviting guests to unwind and experience country living — even just for a few nights.

We sit down with Sarah Hendriks of Cisco and the Sun to talk about slow living, cabin design and life on the farm. Cisco & the Sun’s distinctive collection of earthly tableware essentials are a prominent feature for their form and function in the Upland Cabins.

The charm and variety of our Aussie towns is what makes them such beacons for explorers and holidaymakers, offering up divergent delights from country boroughs to mountaintop hamlets to coastal idylls. Denmark Western Australia was listed as number 31.
